According to Scholarship Region, the Google DeepMind AI for Science Scholarships aim to support bright African students by offering them the financial backing necessary to study at AIMS, a leading institution for mathematical sciences in Africa. In addition to tuition, the scholarships cover essential relocation costs, stipends for living expenses, and provide access to critical resources like computing equipment, reliable internet, and electricity.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

To be eligible for the Google DeepMind AI for Science Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be African citizens and residents at the time of application.
  • Hold a completed four-year undergraduate degree or a three-year degree with an honours year by August or December 2025.
  • Have an academic background in fields such as mathematics, physics, computer science, statistics, engineering, or other disciplines involving strong mathematical or computational components.
  • Applicants should not have previously held an AIMS scholarship.
