Open Startup Launches OST Programme to Accelerate African Startup Ecosystem
Open Startup (OST) is proud to announce the launch of the OST Programme, a groundbreaking initiative developed in collaboration with Columbia Engineering and Columbia Business School, aimed at bolstering the African startup ecosystem. This initiative underscores OST’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurial growth in Tunisia, Senegal, and Morocco.

The OST Programme is set to support 30 early-stage startups – 10 from each country – on their journey from proof of concept to minimum viable product (MVP) through an intensive 18-week hybrid program. Commencing in September 2024 and culminating in January 2025, the programme will provide selected startups with a non-equity funding of $50,000 each, tailored training, and mentorship by industry experts and Columbia Business School MBA students.

“This programme is designed not only to provide crucial financial support but also to equip startups with the strategic guidance and international exposure needed to thrive in today’s competitive landscape,” said Dr. John Smith, Director of Entrepreneurship Initiatives at Columbia Business School.
Participants will benefit from bespoke mentorship, access to a global network, and immersive trips to New York, Tunisia, and Morocco, facilitating invaluable networking opportunities and international collaboration. Applications are now open to early-stage startups with proof of concept and individuals possessing both soft and technical skills. Interested parties are encouraged to apply by July 21, 2024, through the OST Programme website.
