Description
A groundbreaking initiative aimed at propelling women-led businesses in Africa to new heights has been launched. The Khalil Suleiman Halilu (KSH) Foundation, in partnership with Tomorrow Foundation and EHA Impact Ventures, has unveiled Her-Startup, a comprehensive program designed to empower female entrepreneurs across the continent.
The launch took place during a virtual conference focused on the challenges faced by women founders in securing funding. This platform provided a critical space to discuss the obstacles hindering women’s entrepreneurial journeys and to highlight the importance of initiatives like Her-Startup.
Khalil Halilu, Founder of the KSH Foundation, emphasized the program’s significance in driving Africa’s economic growth. “By empowering women entrepreneurs, we are investing in the future of our continent,” he stated. Halilu underscored the potential of Her-Startup to contribute substantially to Africa’s GDP, citing a McKinsey report that estimates women’s entrepreneurship could add $316 billion to the continent’s economy by 2025.
