With a background in corporate finance from Sciences Po Paris and international law from HHS, The Hague, Laurin’s expertise lies at the intersection of finance, technology, and law. His entrepreneurial journey began in 2015 with the launch of a food delivery company in Sweden, showcasing his early passion for innovation and disruption.
In 2018, Laurin co-founded FairMoney MicroFinance Bank, a leading credit-led digital bank dedicated to providing seamless banking and lending services to Nigerians. Under his leadership, FairMoney has emerged as a trailblazer in the Nigerian fintech landscape, leveraging technology to bridge the gap between traditional banking services and the unbanked population.
FairMoney MFB operates as a digital bank, offering customers the convenience of receiving loans directly into their accounts within minutes. Since its inception in 2017, FairMoney has disbursed over N117 million in loans, empowering millions of Nigerians to access much-needed financial resources for personal and business endeavors.
Beyond lending, FairMoney MFB provides a comprehensive suite of banking services, including bank transfers, free debit cards, fast and secure bill payments, and savings accounts. The firm’s commitment to financial inclusion is evident in its user-friendly mobile app, which has garnered over 5 million downloads and facilitated the opening of over 2 million bank accounts.
