Access Bank Launches Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Season 6

Access Bank Plc is thrilled to announce the launch of the sixth season of its Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton program, an initiative under the W Initiative aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs. Since its inception in 2019, the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton has been a cornerstone of Access Bank’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment, providing essential training, mentorship, and financial grants to female-owned businesses across Africa.

The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton program is designed to create an enabling environment for female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses by offering access to finance, world-class business training, and mentoring opportunities. Abiodun Olubitan, Group Head of the W Initiative, highlighted the program’s mission: “This program has been designed to create an enabling environment for female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. Access Bank has been a leading advocate for women’s economic empowerment in Africa, and this is the key motivation for the ‘W’ Initiative which caters to the women’s economy particularly in the areas of financing, capacity building, and creating networking opportunities for women.”

Over the past five years, the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton has received over 160,000 applications, awarded Mini-MBA training to 645 women, and provided over $175,000 in grants across 10 African countries. The program’s impact has been profound, helping women entrepreneurs scale their businesses and achieve their dreams.

The 2024 Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton program for Nigeria will officially kick off on Monday, June 24th, and run through August 9th, 2024. This year’s program will offer financial grants, an exclusive certified capacity-building program, and business coaching aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs. Interested female entrepreneurs who meet the criteria of having an existing business for at least one year with at least 50% female ownership and being between the ages of 18-55 years are eligible to apply.

Applicants are required to fill out an online application on HERE

All applications will be reviewed and screened by independent business experts, and the top 500 candidates will be required to submit a sixty-second video pitch. From these, the final top 120 candidates will be selected to benefit from an exclusive and certified Mini-MBA program in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). These candidates will then participate in pitching sessions to a Pan-African Jury panel, where they will have the opportunity to win financial grants and other consolation prizes.
