The Climate Champions Team, in support of the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions, are committed to strengthening youth agencies in climate action. Elevating and empowering youth voices will help drive systemic change and the Climate Champions will continue to position this vital stakeholder group at the heart of their work.

The Climate Champions Team is now looking for its fourth cohort of ambitious and stubbornly optimistic Youth Fellows. The program creates a pathway for young professionals to work within the team supporting the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions for COP28 and COP29 – H.E Razan Al Mubarak and Ms. Nigar Arpadarai – to drive real-world momentum into the UN Climate Change negotiations.

As part of the Youth Fellowship program, you will help mobilize climate action amongst non-state actors to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, in close collaboration with the UNFCCC, the Marrakech Partnership, and the COP Presidencies.

The Climate Champions Team is searching for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for their PAID Youth Fellowship Program.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Focus: Supporting the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions for COP28 and COP29 in driving progress on climate change negotiations.
• Duration: 7 months (June – December 2024)
• Time Commitment: 16 hours per week.

Eligibility:

• Between 18 and 30 years old (as of January 1, 2024)
• Minimum 5 years of experience (work or volunteer) in climate leadership, organizing, or related fields
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-motivated and adaptable (working across time zones)
• Strong network in climate or relevant sectors
• Proficient English
• Laptop and reliable internet access.
• A commitment to the values of the Climate Champions Team to raise non-state actor commitments to the global goals of the Paris Agreement.
