GTAP: Empowering Aspiring Growth Hackers

Launched in March 2022, GTAP is designed to bridge the talent gap in Africa’s booming tech startup ecosystem. The program equips individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel as growth hackers – a specialized marketing role focused on rapid user acquisition and business growth.

Measurable Success and Identified Needs

Since its pilot program, GTAP has yielded promising results. Bili Sule, Founder and Chief Growth Officer of alGROWithm, highlights two key needs identified through the initial run:

  1. High Demand for Growth Talent: Companies are actively seeking skilled growth hackers, evidenced by the rapid employment of past GTAP graduates.
  2. Upskilling Existing Teams: Many businesses prefer to upskill their current workforce rather than hire entirely new talent.

Responding to Market Needs with a Two-Pronged Approach

alGROWithm’s secured funding allows them to address these needs through a two-pronged approach:

  1. Scholarship Opportunities: The funding will enable alGROWithm to offer scholarships, making the program accessible to a wider pool of aspiring growth hackers across Africa.
  2. Program Expansion: The additional funding allows alGROWithm to extend GTAP beyond its initial focus on Nigeria and Ghana. The program is now open to applicants from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa. This expansion broadens alGROWithm’s impact and caters to the growing demand for growth hacking expertise across the continent.

Sule emphasizes alGROWithm’s ambitious goals: “This year alone, we plan to train over 150 growth leaders across East, West, and Southern Africa. We’re committed to closing the growth talent gap in the ecosystem and propelling African businesses to new heights.”

GTAP’s Offerings: Equipping the Next Generation

alGROWithm offers two versions of GTAP catering to different needs:

  • GTAP Lite: This program is designed for individuals seeking to launch their careers in growth hacking. It provides a comprehensive foundation in growth marketing strategies, user acquisition techniques, and data analysis.
  • GTAP Pro: This program caters to businesses looking to upskill their existing teams. It offers a customized curriculum tailored to the specific growth challenges faced by the company.

Looking Ahead: A Brighter Future for African Tech

alGROWithm’s expansion, fueled by secured funding, represents a significant step forward for Africa’s tech ecosystem. Equipping individuals with growth hacking skills will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of African startups and fostering a more vibrant and competitive tech landscape across the continent.
